Who We Are

I’m Amrita, the artist and founder behind Mridul’s Handcraft — a small, heart-led pottery studio that began in the quiet corners of my garage in Milpitas, California.
My journey into clay is more than just a pursuit of art — it’s a continuation of love, memory, and legacy. I grew up surrounded by creativity, inspired by my father, Mridul Sen, an artist by heart and soul whose imagination found expression in everything he touched. His artistry shaped my world long before I ever touched clay.
When the pandemic struck, I lost my father — and a part of myself. In the silence that followed, I realized his spirit still lived on through his art. That realization became my turning point. I felt a deep need to keep his creative flame alive — to mold my grief into grace, my love into form. With my mother’s unwavering encouragement and my father’s blessings, I turned to pottery — a language through which my heart could finally speak.
Though I began as a technology professional, art was always quietly waiting within me. The first time I shaped clay, I felt a pulse — warm, grounding, alive. I understood then how deeply fulfilling it is to create something that holds both beauty and purpose — art that you can hold, use, and feel.
Today, I continue to balance my work as an IT consultant with my passion for pottery, blending creativity with structure, imagination with precision. Over time, I’ve honed my skills, evolving from simple forms to creative collections that reflect stories, moods, and textures inspired by nature, emotion, and memory.
What began as a small Etsy shop in 2021, named in honor of my father, has now grown into a family-driven endeavor - with each member contributing their love and support to help my focus on the creative heartbeat of the studio. From our humble garage beginnings to a full-fledged Shopify storefront, we’ve kept one thing constant: every piece is made by hand, with heart.
At Mridul’s Handcraft, I believe pottery is not just functional - it’s emotional. It carries warmth, memory, and meaning. Each piece is created with care, designed to bring a little calm, beauty, and humanity into everyday life.
Thank you for being here - for supporting handmade art, for valuing imperfection and for letting a part of my story become part of your home.
